Very good video!!! It is very good idea to dry pieces of scrap before dropping into liquid Al. One advice: your giant crucible has thin sides and bottom (?) so it can suddenly burned in the bottom side. Please be carefull, care about your naked legs.

@Emaniac69 Hi! 1) As I know, thin pieses of scrap (and cans too) is not very sutable raw produce due to oxygenated layer over Al. Bulk pieses is better.
2) heater was burned. See explanation below video and answers to comments.

My diy spot welder!
I build this thing just from scrap I happened to see around the house
Nice job. Good idea to use small drill press for welder press. One mention - as I know in industrial spot welding first applied pressure to electrodes and second - high current. When welding finished - wise wersa. Can this have any sense for your job?

@XzozoX123 Hi. It was raw liver beef. I think it is not useful for water cleanness, but if make all with care it will be safely.
