How to tell if your "religion" is a cult:
1. Claiming absolute infallibility of the group's leader and doctrine.
2. Relegating outsiders to the status of reduced value or non-person.
3. All individual suffering is attributed to the misapplication, misunderstanding or even casual doubting of the group's unfailing teaching.
4. Sensory deprivation and sensory overload, guided imagery and visualization, and/or trance induction are induced through repetition of words or slogans.
5. A mystique of importance around the group and it's leader is created so that the group and it's goals are seen as more important than anything else.
6. A level of unattainable perfection is required, with consequent guilt and shame serving as powerful control devices.
