Hey I found the prototype trailer! It's titled "Vague Genre Movie".

Plost-wise, the new one was closer to the book, but character-wise, it hacked up pretty much everyone and shoved them into either the sickly sweet or aggressively obnoxious category. The new one wasn't a complete misfire, but the old one was WAY better.
