Gionni Crawford is not your average high school student. You won't just see Gionni on the school announcements or the annual school talent shows, but also creating change within Detroit communities. As a Detroit native, Gionni feels that is important to remember where you've came from. Gionni is setting an example for youth in his community. Gionni participates in many community plays and student films. Gionni studied at Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit in the acting ensemble company. Gionni also studied theatre & drama at the University of Michigan MPulse Summer Performing Arts Camp this summer 2011. While Gionni is not acting, dancing, or singing - he works as a freelance writer and reporter for many youth-led organizations. Gionni constantly maintains blogs, videos, and discussion boards and makes it a priority to attend leadership conferences, workshops & various training opportunities to hone his crafts. Gionni recently was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the Detroit Police Department for teaching "Youth Activism through Social Media Platforms."
