About this user

I'm new to the bass scene. I've been playing gospel bass since August 2006. I'm a former drummer (well...I still play sometime) that God found some way to put bass in my hands. I've picked it up and have never stopped.

Why the name "isthatagirlonthebass"? That's how it feels sometime in such a male dominant genre. I get the "look". I don't pay much attention to it now. Luckily, I play with a great male Minister of Music (BJ) who has been a huge blessing to my life. So that's what inspired the name.

My weakness? Playing what I hear. It's crazy to admit, but it's true! I get so frustrated when I hear something and can't transpose it to the bass. That's the main reason for joining YouTube...to help train my ear. Technique is something else I'm working on.

My strong point? I think it is discipline (musicianship) and the desire to do what I do for God.
