Over 160 athletes coming from 27 countries met in Acapulco, Mexico on the 15th of March. There, the ISSF Shotgun World Cup Series kicked off with ten intense competition days. Several Olympic Champions were among the participants, including the 2012 Olympic Gold medallists Jessica Rossi (ITA) and Vincent Hancock (USA), joining the lot in Acapulco to test the new rules.
The third and last Shotgun leg of the 2012 ISSF World Cup Series takes place on the shores of the Garda Lake, in Lonato, Italy, from the 2nd to the 8th of April. This is the last chance to compete at world-level in the five Olympic shotgun events, before the start of the London Olympics
The 2012 ISSF World Cup in all events took palce on the lines of the 2012 Olympic shooting venue, the Royal Artillery Barracks (RAB). The competition - an official test event of the London Prepares Series - hosted more than 800 shooters coming from 100 countries from the 17th through the 29th of April 2012. Twice as many shooters qualified to compete there at Games time, when 390 athletes will have a start.
The 2012 ISSF World Cup Series kicks off from Tucson, Arizona, USA. There, the best shotgun shooters of the world competed in the five Olympic shooting events of Trap, Double Trap, and Skeet in one of the last preparation events before the 2012 London Olympic Games.
The 2011 ISSF World Cup Season kicked-off from Conception, Chile, where the first Shotgun World Cup Stage of the year was conducted between the 1st and the 9th of March at the "Estadio Italiano" shooting club. The best shooters of the world participated trying to secure an Olympic Quota place, a pass to the 2012 Games in London.
The 2011 ISSF Shotgun World Cup in Beijing is held on the layouts of Clay Target Field build for the 2008 Olympic Games from the 19 through the 28 of April. 10 Olympic Quota Places, the entrance ticket to the London 2012 Games, will be awarded during this comeptition in Skeet, Trap and Double Trap events.
The 2nd Stage of the 2010 ISSF World Cup Series, a combined competition inclusing Rifle, Pistol and Shotgun events, took place on the lines of the 2008 Olympic Shooting Range of Beijing (CHN)
