is a charismatic, deep-voiced Polish singer with an unusual voice timbre. Guitar player and song writer.
She creates music which is usually based on Afro-Amercian roots (blues, gospel, soul, jazz, swing, funk, rhythm and blues) or ethnic melodies/styles from various parts of the world, especially beloved Africa. Making brave & unusual mixture of music from Delta to Europe via Mali - in tasteful and inimitable arrangements.
Female Blues Vocalist of the Year 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2009 in Poland. Two time Semifinalist of the most important international blues contest: IBC, Memphis.
The author of acoustic concert album "Magda Live" and studio CD "Blues travelling" feat. Michał Urbaniak, a worldwide known jazz violinist.
Magda Piskorczyk has prepared a special program "In Honor of Mahalia Jackson" with her versions of songs known from Mahalia's records.
Magda regularly performs with her band. She was a guest of many international festivals, such as:
