I tried to do the after hours version of this song and randy plays the solo in the beggining and then goes into the main riff that's also after the solo. this was the first song i ever learned all the way through. but it took a while to get it good enough to do a cover, it's one of my favorite songs. the only thing i have to say about this video id RIP randy, good luck jake, and as for zack he's graet with the pentatonic but not much else. but he does very well. There's no replacing that plane flying fguitar player.( And by the way zack wylde is definitely a good guitar player he's one of my favorites but he can't replace randy.

i'm going to show you how much i screwed when making the first video of how to play afterlife. i screwed up the parts and i think what i did was follow th vocals too much in the rhythm. And also in this video i will show the different parts that you play for both zacky's and syn's in the harmonies and the verse. And i might put up the bass when ny dad gets his bass guitar and maybe i'll put a full cover with me being each band mamber or something anyways... This is to clarify and fix (mostly fix) problems with my part one video.

this is a lesson on how to play the afterlife solo in depth, it's really not that hard except for chromatic runs sweep picking and just about anything that guitar players have invented. the solo is in d aeolean and d phrygian (minor) and is composed of d minor scale runs followed by a slightly cromatic decend and a harmony in natural minor. next ther are chromatic runs with arpeggios inbetween. then there is repeated pentatonic lick and a natural minor lick followed by yet and another chromatic decent and finally the dive bomb at the very end of the solo. I'm sorry i didn't get to explaian the last bit of solo but i ran out of time so, what are you gonna do? That is a believe it or not brief explaination of the entire solo from start to finish.

This song is one of my favorites because of the really fast picked solo. It's in drop c sharp tuning and i believe he's using sort of a chromatic harmonic minor thing in the solo. I like the chromatic scale in the beggining and pretty much every part of the song. The solo is 99% accurate the one percent the second arpeggio in the slow harmonized part. i used a natural minor arpeggio for that instead of the actual arpeggio.i'm off by 1 or 2 notes. The solo is really easy to learn because of the repetition of phrases but it's really hard to play because of the speed.

Bat country is an awesome song by avenged sevenfold. There's always a diminished minor soung like you get in jazz but the rythms and tempo and really the overall style is metal. This was shot ith my red half ibanez half fender guitar with seymor duncan JB pickups specially made in the 70's and is great for pick harmonics. This is not exactly how synister gates plays it or zacky vengence.

unholy confessionswas a song that didn't need a fast solo all it really needed was that diminished minor sound you hear every time you listen to it. It's not perfect i'll tell you now but it was my 3rd take and i said screw it, it shoudn't take 6 hours just to get unholy confessions posted. anyway that's the story behind this video. When i looked at the video it looked like it was fake but i assure you it's not fake even to prove it there was a pause in the backing track and i was still holding the chords and if you try copying my hand movements then you'll notice that the notes that i play are in the song. i promise better balance between guitar and backing.
