@marine5546 Joni mitchell wrote this in 1967, when she was 24. Hayley Westenra sang it when she was 22. Not 'much older' as you state. Joni re-wrote and performed this circa 2000, much more upbeat. I agree, though, it's far more upbeat than melancholy, which I, too, prefer.
