after effects and cinema 4D XD i use cinema 4D to make the 3d text and i use after effects for the finishing touches.

Haha, it is ridiculous. But yeah, there's the trial version you get for 30 days, the portable version, which is a free, easy download, but you can't download any plugins using it (and you can only get CS3, not much dif from CS4, but there are some filetypes I often use that you cant import), or you can use a torrent/keygen to get the full version for free (can be a huge pain in the ass to get to work, but once it does, you get everything, and all for free).

I actually only have 8, but if you can get a higher version, there is no reason not to. I only use 8 instead of a higher version because I'm too lazy to upgrade and I find that 8 works fine.
