Iqbal Academy Pakistan (IAP) was founded in 1951 and currently works under the Federal Ministry of Culture with the aim of promoting the work and message of Dr. Sir Muhammad Iqbal (1877-1938), distinguished poet, philosopher, politician and reformer who is officially accredited with the idea of Pakistan. As a player in the most exciting epoch of modern history, i.e. the struggle against internal decadence and external domination, he inspired millions of his followers to achieve self-reform and self-realization as a necessary prelude to independent nationhood.
