Dylan didn't even do the original version. He wrote it with the Band and Richard Manuel was the first voice to get a crack at it. Now that guy had a voice that could rival Cocker's. But no one has ever done covers like Joe Cocker, he can sing a song with more conviction than the author.

@AllyWheels They were at first, but after the TV show ended they became their own group. A lot of their great songs were original. Their reputation for being a fabrication though overshadowed their own efforts.
