Congress is saying that the US is not getting involved with apprehending Joseph Kony because it is not a direct threat tho the US or a national security issue. This is what Obama said during his speech in Cairo:
"For we have learned from recent experience that when a financial system weakens in one country, prosperity is hurt everywhere. When a new flu infects one human being, all are at risk. When one nation pursues a nuclear weapon, the risk of nuclear attack rises for all nations. When violent extremists operate in one stretch of mountains, people are endangered across an ocean. And when innocents in Bosnia and Darfur are slaughtered, that is a stain on our collective conscience. That is what it means to share this world in the 21st century. That is the responsibility we have to one another as human beings."

Just wanted to note that it was great having Invisible Children as a guest at City College of San Francisco today! Thank you for coming out on short notice to share the 2 documentaries, and inform everyone on how they can help save child soldiers in Uganda. The documentaries were truly inspiring, and I hope the different levels of government at the local, state, national, and even international levels hear our voices and sign that bill so that we can make a difference in rescuing all the children. Keep up your passion, dedication, and strong commitment in mending together in this amazing movement!
