For all you who criticize, pull out the score and take a look. Villazon sings it completely as Bizet wrote, note for note, yes including the falsetto. Don't confuse, this is for a light lyric tenor not like a Don Jose in Carmen. Nevertheless Villazon sings it beautifully.
For all those who like to complain about it being transposed half step down, his voice is not like distefano's or pavarotti's. His is a deeper more baritonalish similar to that of Carreras' who's interpretation was also transposed in the famed san francisco 1973 performance which sent the critics...
