"In Other News" is a mockumentary sitcom following the lives of La Salle students working for the campus TV station, on the fictitious news program "Good Evening La Salle". Mike Stankowitz (Locatell) is the show's arrogant co-lead anchor, who has yet to adjust to sharing the spotlight with his new co-anchor, the amiable Tom Jones (Albertini). Buck Moreno (Battaglia) is the sports anchor, who includes over-the-top "Buckisms" into his segments as well as everyday conversations. Lucy Albright (Malmquist) is the uptight executive producer of the show, whose constant eye-rolling and "my way or the highway" attitude tend to rub people the wrong way. Gina Ramirez (Correa) is the show's peppy and upbeat weather girl, who always tries to make every situation as fun as possible, even though people often mistake her positivity for a lack of intelligence. Hannah Verdana (Tull) is the smart, mostly awkward field reporter and technical director of the show.
Throughout season one, the characters face a number of obstacles including a political scandal, a strike, the performing arts, and a rabbit.
