I agree- very few will remember Justin. Like you said he is what he is and no sense being so negative about him in particular. The truth of the matter is that the music (if you can call it that) of today is in general pretty damned weak.

Lenny was fabulous-his 1963 book "How to Talk Dirty and Influence People" is a must for a fan.

Along with the great Lenny Bruce a pioneer!!

@Swaggs303 I now understand you are a rhythm section guy-I personally love the saxophone and the ability of the great ones to express emotion but rhythm section is an essential part -will keep my eyes out for stuff I think you'd like and gladly pass it on-

one of the most underrated sax players-this dude could really "caress, bend and twist a note"as it says on the liner notes to this 1968 classic-

to my knowledge he never played oboe, though he undoubtedly could-he was great on stritch and manzello-in an Esquire interview to the question what was the 1st instrument he played he responded "the water hose"

@tranelives91 love your name-in early '70's there was a show on M.I.T. radio called Coltrane Lives-pure ecstasy-he may be gone but he'll always be with us.

On Nature Boy Art Davis joined the classic Coltrane quartet on The John Coltrane Quartet Plays, recorded in 1965. A very different interpretation of a beautiful piece of music.
