Methinks that people are looking for a way to make a bottleneck slide that's cheaper than buying one already made. You can BUY real bottleneck slides - but who has a pneumatic DRILL sitting around the house, for goodness sake? If I had the money for that, I'd just buy a truckload of ready-made ...

@BlisherMG Some great jazz guitarists used to (and still do) use Telecasters. Ed Bickert, Ted Greene -- many others. Stick to the neck pickup and the jazztones possible are endless.

@bluegrasssingingman Cool --- but please understand that I'm not saying that "THIS" guy isn't playing well. Actually, he plays just fine, IMO.

@willy1986tralara Play it over a D9 chord (or D7) and listen how cool. Works nice with D13. Could work over Am, Am7, Am9 Might vary the rhythms of the notes to fit the groove, but it can work in blues.

@JZGuitarman Mine didn't come with 9s! Ha - it came with 11s, with a wound 3rd. I use 12s and have had 13s on it, and it loves 'em. Has a nice strong "jazz" neck. Not beefy, but not skinny either. Great guitar for the money. Big low-end sound possible, great mids, screaming highs.
