well im Joe Vaccaro and im only 16 years of age and love the special effects industry and making/sculpting masks!

i have only really been making masks at what i guess you would call the intermediate stage with the whole 9 yards (sculpting, mold making, casting etc.) since about july of 2009. to me its hard to believe ive come this far in a little under a year.

ive been around horror and special effects ever since i can remember at a very young age,most likely from my dad. as years moved along my dad decided to open a haunted house which is very successful year after year. every year in preparation for the haunt we always get costumes. i was so fed up and sick of the shitty store bought costumes. i always had to have the different costume, the one the caught peoples eye and know that i made it!

again and again custom costume over another my mom would help me make sewing one peice to another. well cosidering i was jason voorhess for about 8 years of life every halloween i never really put much thought into masks, i mean of course i would always dirty up the hockey mask and pour a gallon of blood on it but then came this strong obsessions for clowns.

i would probably have to say my clown obbesions came from shawn Crahan from slipknot! i swear he had the coolest fucking clown masks ever they werent just the clowns with the big red smiles these masks were bloody and anger as hell.

from there i would buy any clown mask i could find and cut them to shreds and either glue or do whatever to make a cool mask.

few years later i loved watching youtube but never really looked into mask making on here. around the same time i came across a mask called freak show III made by who most of you know ( Juan Caparas or Evilslaughter13) this mask was everything i ever thought of inside my head it was just by far the coolest fucking thing.

juan pointed me in the right direction in a good half of the work i do today if not more. easy enough to say without him id probably be no where as successful as i am today.

from there i bought to the monster makers kit and sculpted what you guys know today as creeper the clown. from there i just couldnt stop i sculpted and worked on shit almost everyday during the rest of that summer and into the winter making custom props and masks for the haunted house.

here i am today making things the people are astounded by including myself i am so happy to be able to sit back and look at what i created with just time and pateince. forever i am greatful, thank you
