About this user
I study Latin and linguistics, with a particular interest in syntactic change. I'm going to teach Latin in high school. I have wide-ranging interests, including science, philosophy, and religion, and the intersections therebetween.
I'm married to my wonderful wife Alisha, who is on her way to becoming a veterinarian. We met in high school and decided to get married when we were 16 (though it didn't happen until we were 20). We both attend UT, she in the College of Liberal Arts Honors, from which I just graduated, and I in the graduate program in Classics.
I'm a vegetarian and a teetotaler, and I abstain from smoking and all forms of mind-altering substances. I consider critical inquiry to be of extreme importance, a human responsibility on par with love and compassion. I am an atheist, an anti-religionist, a skeptic, a freethinker, a transhumanist, and a thoroughgoing naturalist. I like to think about big issues and keep a wide perspective, temporally and spatially.
I'm a gamer.
