Muslims in America

This series is based on the book Muslims in American History by Dr. Jerald Dirks. His lecture covers the role Muslims played in the History of America. From early contact with the Native American Indians, to navigating the ships for Columbus. Many of the Slaves were also Muslims from West Africa. Muslims also fought for the Independence of this country (Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Civil War). Islam also had a special place in the hearts of the Founding Fathers, of which, Adams and Jefferson owned their own copy of the Quran (Koran). It is well documented and uncovers a forgotten history of Muslims in America.
