A songtress whose Conscience, Hip Hop, Jazzy, Soul, Funky style embraces the five elements of sound. Her music both uplifts and inspires the listener. Although a native of Los Angeles California, Madame Indica's roots stem from Louisiana and Belize. Her vocal talents became known at the age of 4, when she performed in school plays and church events, however, it wasn't until the tender age of 13 that she began to write lyrics and arrange music. She has a diverse style, however her strengths are Soul and Jazz. The young songbird took flight between 1989 and 1991 when she won consecutively in district and regional competitions for the WWCG Talent Showcases. It was also in 1991 that she performed a duet on The Lou Rawls Parade of Stars. She also performed on The Daryl Strawberry Special along with The CRENSHAW H.S. CHOIR under the direction of DR. IRIS STEVENSON. Madame Indica has had the pleasure of performing with HAZEL PAYNE-BUCKLEY of the award winning group A TASTE OF HONEY in 1993. She began performing with recording LA FACE artist SONJA MARIE in 1997- 1999. Also in 1997 she met up with KCRW's (89.9 fm) CHOCOLATE CITY host GARTH TRINIDAD. Later on she went in to do a promo for the CHOCOLATE CITY RADIO SHOW. In 2001 she went on to record a track with rap group THE LUNIZ. The venues where Madame Indica has appeared are as divrse as her sound, and they include: FAIS DO-DO, THE TEMPLE BAR,LUNA PARK, THE EL REY, THE GIG, THE GAB'BAH, THE PALACE IN HOLLYWOOD, THE WEST INN, RUSTY'S, THE BAKED POTATO , TEMPEST, THE BELLY ROOM, THE 14TH ANNUAL AFRICAN MARKETPLACE, etc... Indica also graced the stage of The MARTINI LOUNGE when she participated in the Unsigned Artists Showcase, hosted by radio personality THE POETESS. Madame Indica has also appeared on the big screen and television. She was in ALI starring WILL SMITH/JAIME FOX, ROCK STAR featuring MARK WAHLBERG/JENIFER ANISTON.
