In Context is South Dublin County Councils Per Cent for Art programme. The basic premise of the programme is an over-riding objective for sensitivity to context in commissioning public art of excellence in South Dublin County, Ireland. The context of the county is of one dynamic contrast, explaining the vibrant diversity of In Context commissions. The current phase of the programme, In Context 3, 2006-2009, sees an on-going commitment to sustainable public art projects in all art disciplines and active engagement with situation, community and place. The commissions being undertaken through this phase of the programme allow artists and others the time and opportunity to explore new ways of working and allow communities to find new ways of connecting with this work.
