What is Worldfiles?

Until June 2007, Mary Kimberly Tyler was living the uneventful life of a young assistant researcher in Biology at Oxford University. This was before Kris Lamont Cogan came knocking on her door. Kris claims he is the bearer of bad news for Mary: he has been sent by his employer, ROOT, to kill her. However, Kris takes Mary under his protection and the unlikely couple embarks on a journey around the world, seeking answers to the mysteries of Mary's life, meeting everyone from mystics to scientists to diplomats along the way. Mary learns that on May 22, 2007 her father, the late John Tyler, killed himself and his wife in a car accident. She also discovers that Beatrice, her mother, who she thought had died 20 years ago, was none other than ROOT, the head master of the Service, the secret organization Kris works for. As lies and deceptions unfold, Mary learns to accept her fate, and follow the path that was meticulously prepared for her by her mother with the help of Kris: she becomes ROOT and fills the chair left empty by her mother's passing at the head of the Service. As Worldfiles enters its second chapter, we're now following the life of Kris Lamont Cogan. We're entering the 8th circle.
