after working as a tec at ford fer 3 years i know they wont put up with this torture, he will be replacin cv shafts and ball joints and carrry bearing (if 2 peice driveshaft) verrrrry soon. i left the dark side tho and now work for gm. yeah! lol

im a mechanic and worked for ford for 3 years, sounds like i would adjust the shifter cable first before replacing the transmission, sound like its just not getting in the right gear, i have actually had this happen before

my word of advice to you as a mechanic that used to work for ford is that a ranger uses automatic transmission fluid for power steering, and if the fluid is pissing out then it is more than likely a pressure line which u arent going to fix with sealant. if it is a steel line use a compression joi...
