About Me:

I started playing guitar at the age of seven, with help learning from my father, who was a self-taught guitarist and often played guitar and sang duets with my mother in church.

My dad taught me to play country, gospel and old traditional songs.

Later I got into a little rock, and loved my mid-sixties chocolate Strat, which regretfully, I sold.

Then I began taking jazz guitar lessons years ago from an elderly man, I think his first name was Eddie.

He was the studio musician for a couple of famous movies, when they used big bands to lay down sound tracks for movies.

One of the movies was Breakfast at Tiffany's.

Eddie taught me how to play harmonized chord solos, which I will be eventually adding to my website.

He had the most awesome Gibson ES335 you have ever seen, with as many bindings and inlays on it that you could imagine.

So I bought a nice used Gibson ES335 and still have it and love playing it..

This early history all occurred in the midwestern states of the USA.

Well, I moved down south, right into the heart of bluegrass country.

It is in this region of the country where bluegrass music originated.

There, I started to attend weekend bluegrass festivals and jam sessions, rubbing shoulders and jamming with some pretty well known bluegrass musicians and pickers.

I fell in love with flatpicking, memorizing other's solos and licks and now, writing my own.

Many of us who pick up a guitar and want to learn how to play it or get better at playing it, share that feeling of self accomplishment for what we are learning and sharing and playing with others.

My goal for my hobby website, GuitarMore.com, is to share what I know about guitar playing with others.

And in turn, I am on other guitar player's websites who know more about guitar playing than I do, and I am learning from them.

... And here is a riddle for you:

What does my username "IMAUMBN" mean?

About one third of people can guess its meaning almost immediately.

About one third of the people guess it after a day or so thinking about it.

And about one third of the people never are able to guess it.

Probably depends on if you are a left-brained or right-brained thinker.

Hint:
Say the letters one at a time, out load, and accent the letter "B".

Leave a comment if you can guess what my user name means.

P.S. I am also starting to do a little vlogging. Hope you like them!

Rock on!
