this is so great. Wonderful to hear Steve at the top of his game. Also, the version of this song from the 1982 Omaha show with Elefante singing... well, all credit to John's voice. But notice that they needed another keyboard player to take over Steve's work. John can play but nothing like Steve....

this is such a great song. The hook is...wow. She had a great run of ballads and midtemp hits in the early 80s. And her voice is gorgeous.

The thing about this song, in addition to being a nice sequel to Jessie's Girl, is that the backup vocal performance is outstanding. RS always had great studio sounds and this early recording shows where he was going.

Wow, this is hard to watch. I know where he went from here, but it is hard to believe that the RS we know now CAME from here. Even how he physically performs the song, looks like a different person. The only time I ever see this in the more modern era, is on his I've Done Everything video.... ...

Did you ever find? I at one time had the SATB copy of this from when my 7th grade choir performed it (way back when it was on this show). I might still have it.

THe most amazing thing about RS is his age. At the time of this interview he references the Zoot single, back in 1969, like 12 years earlier than this interview. He doesn't look any older than 23 in this interview. ANd now, he is 60 or 61 and still looks 40.

Toss played on some of the Kevin Gilbert live projects back in the early 90's as well. The Live CD of Kevin touring Toy Matinee (with Sheryl Crow on Keys - Blech) as well. He smokes.

i always liked Ali Thompson, and the song "looks like love again" sounds like alot of the other soft rock of the day. I am always amazed at how radically pop music changed between 80 and 81. Of course MTV was responsible for most of that change, but still, quite a difference.
