The Center for Renewable Energy at Illinois State University works to meet the growing needs for education outreach in the area of renewable energy.

ILLINOIS WIND WORKING GROUP (IWWG)
The Center administers the IWWG which is affiliated with the US Department of Energy's Wind Powering America Program. IWWG is an organization whose purposes are to communicate wind opportunities honestly and objectively, to interact with various stakeholders at the local, state, regional and national levels, and to promote economic development of wind energy in the state of Illinois.

RENEWABLE ENERGY MAJOR
To meet the growing demand for well educated workers, Illinois State University developed the first interdisciplinary renewable energy major in the nation. This broad-based program addresses social, economic and technical issues that graduates will encounter in the emerging field of renewable energy. Students select between a technology track or an economics/public policy track.
