Remember Soylant Green - first they destroy the environment then they turn people into food. In the end, as a society treats its animals is the way it will treat its people. In some cultures you must feed your animals (let alone mistreat them !) before yourself or family.

She's is doing the right things except I have 2 concerns:

1) Vacuum cleaner stuff in the compost - some of the stuff will likely have toxic residues. I would not do it.

2) A minor suggestion - I don't like plastic covers on compost unless the plastic is at least food grade. I am concerned about...

I think he has the handles facing the wrong way. Those style handles are meant to face you, not away from you as this man has done.

@ndudman8 I need clarification. Do you do the elbow hinged "hardening" hammer blow s only one time at the very end of the entire peening process or do you also do the hardening blows after a completion of each "line" or only certain lines? Thanks

Thanks for tips - FYI - last week just finished reading the ABC book (12th edition - 1980) !. Did you know the book does not encourage feeding sugar syrup. How many BK actually follow the books advice ? Best to leave em enough honey stores for dearth and if they do not have enough feed em honey...

Have read your excellent barefoot bee book - and agree with virtually everything you say and advocate.

Your box is a creative solution, but one draw back is the extra work for the bees navigating thru it to enter and leave the hive. Furthermore need to be careful with that metal gate that it do...

Thank you for posting your videos there is much good in them. But I have 2 problems with this approach.

1) Plastic does not breathe and may cause condensation which causes major problems for bees. There is no plastic in a natural hive.

2) Why create yet more environmental degradation with this...

Why do you think Marugg snath is bad ? Are you referring to the straight or bent one ? Are you referring to the grips ?
