在香港米埔濕地拍到弧邊（網紋）招潮蟹啣泥蓋住泥灘洞口的行為，­那是牠要回去休息，將洞口掩蓋免得潮水上漲時灌水進洞，好生聰明­。

弧邊招潮蟹穴居於河口、海灣及紅樹林泥灘地，退潮時會從洞口邊挖­土修築煙囪型洞口，有揮舞大螯行為。常在潮水漲來前，用步足挖取­一塊泥土把洞口封住。
