To get a full perspective of just how wonderful this moment was, you have to see the other competitors. The other couples were still doing the traditional ice dances. When Torvill & Dean did this, they literally started a new form of ice dance..........this was groundbreaking stuff folks..........

Saw them do this live!!! Thrilling then, thrilling now. What people do not understand is that this was a break away from the traditional ice dance form back then......they set the stage for the ice dancing we see today.
