Riki is a 14 year old girl with a rough life. When she was 12, Someone broke into her house and killed her whole family. She now lives with her mom's best friend, Rebecca, because she is the closest thing she has to family. Even though Rebbeca doesn't have that much money, she feels a little spoiled. Every night, she looks out of her window and starts thinking about the family she once had and how it all fell apart. She vowed to get revenge on the person that took her family's life away. Every day that passes without getting closer to her goal, she cuts a deep slice in her wrist. Some people say she does it for pleasure, others say she want's attention. Riki feels like like no one understands her, and this leads to more pain. She dresses in all black and died her hair shiny black. people know she cries a lot because they see dark mascara marks running down her cheeks. Riki feels alone, depressed and unwanted. Sometimes she tells herself she is in a dream and thinks that if she dies, she will wake up from her 'nightmare'. She has jumped off a three story building twice and tried to hang herself once. She has gone to six different therapists, but none of them worked. Riki thought she was doing everyone a favor by ending her life, but Rebecca is the one having to pay for all her medical bills. Riki begs her to stop paying and just let her die, but Rebecca will never stop supporting her. Now Riki feels even worse and finally suceeds her suicide attempt. when Rebecca came home, she relized what happened and knows that Riki is happier this way. Ever since Riki's death, more and more people have been respecting the way she was and started acknowledging her.
