have you played any of the games in the YAKUZA (ryu ga gotaku) series if you havent you should cheak it out you seem to play the same games as my self so you might enjoy it also dont just play from any random game start from 1-4

Thats funny you lerned English the same way i lerned Japanese the only diffrence is that i did not get any practice on reading or writing from school. learning Kanji has been a bicth but its cool i can read some of it now and im getting better all the time.
