I really love Brian May...obviously a great rock guitar player. However, he was clueless here and should never play anything remotely jazz/fusion orientated again, unless he's really prepped and worked his part out beforehand.

It sounds like they ran the mix through a board with some compression. Better than sticking a mic out in the audience, but if they're going to go to that trouble, they could've gotten a better mix.

Billy remains one of the top session keyboard players of all time and a writer of truly great pop songs. More important, he was a good soul with a love of people and truly good things. Billy could do it all, but as a purveyor of soul on the hammond B3, no one did it better.
