All these videos are mad send-ups of Les Mis. Now, both of us in the videos are huge fans of Les Mis, but when we watched the Tenth Anniversary DVD we couldn't help thinking that Colm Wilkinson as Valjean was doing some very odd faces by dropping his jaw - watch it and see. It sprang from there, really.
This is our version of Les Mis; manically caricatured. Matthew Bond as Valjean based on Colm Wilkinson, and Ian Farnell as Javert, somewhat more loosely based on Philip Quast...certainly the mad shouty bits, anyway.
Also featuring Fantine and Bamatabois with moustaches, a very strange Thenardier, a student rebellion consisting of a Japanese tourist and a policewoman, as well as Javert and Valjean doing ABBA, Grease and other songs.
Seriously weird stuff.
