Writer, rapper, poet, revolutionary; Gif, is an extremely versatile artist capable of taking on many monikers. Born in Bed-Stuy Brooklyn, Gif has endured many hardships in his life including homelessness, troubles with the law, and other pitfalls of ghetto life. Beginning his rap career at the age of 13 at a Junior High school talent show, after accepting an invitation from two classmates to perform alongside them, Gif has since appeared on BET's Rap City with KRS1 and tore down stages all over the Tri-state area as well as out of state. With performances at the world famous Apollo Theatre, Maria Davis Monday night madness, Mental Supremes Training Camp,IFC Rooftopfilms film festival and countless others under his belt. He has developed a reputation as an outstanding performer whose stage presence, swagger, and energy is both infectious and unforgettable. Featured on various websites and soundtracks including mp3.com where his song "No born ID" has recieved over 40,000 downloads and a spot on THE BEST OF MP3.COM compilation CD as well as being featured on Dj Silva Sirfa's new mixtape the rise of Silva Sirfa.
