the proper thing to do is educate about the real consequences of drugs early on. Such as pot is really safe, but only in moderation, crack, heroine and meth are dangerous etc. If you tell them the truth they will listen.

@ab211125 I feel that the laws should be 16, then the parents could teach the merits of responsible smoking. Kind of like in some parts of europe where there is much less of an issue with binge drinking because kids are taught about responsible drinking at an earlier age.
