Do not fret people. I am still in pursuit of my goals with both Prevail and Village Fate. I had many a set back from July to November 2011: cash flow , landlord problems (involving fraud squad), move of address, start of new job (because of cash flow).... Blimey!!!!! It took it out of me, but I shall pick up my baton. I want to leave my mark on this world. xxxxx

Draft... advertise... audition... rehearsal venue... actual venue... invites (producers, press....)

I've figured out how to notate the choreography, so for a draft, I'm going to choreograph Prevail. And that's where it ends my side. I think writing the plot, music and choreography is plenty of involvement. I've to place ads soon, to find dancers (with no money!!!).

Iain Stringer Works- Plan (Prevail): 1) Have draft of Prevail ready by end of 2011. 2) Plan timescale/sceduling/dates. 3) Write article for press. 4) Scout for potential venue. 5) Search for players and cast auditions (workshop? dance schoool? professionals? semi professionals?). 6) Rehearsals 7) Invites (producers, press...). 8) Performance...

..... Time to begin the draft, find venue for rehearsals, search for dancers (silent actors) and bring Prevail together.....

Dear Iain, It is difficult to have work seen by industry professionals without credits behind you. Try and produce a limited fringe version of your work... write to producers inviting them to see your work. Instead of waiting... you must create your own. You've worked hard... it would seem a shame not to see the work produced - join online networks and garner interest from other beginners who also want to gain credits in the industry. Starting as I intend to go on: I shall be attending one of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe's roadshows this Saturday at The Pleasance Theatre...

4 months ago I embarked on finding a UK dance company or choreographer's commission for my first major [dance] project. I've completed that aim. As an unknown/musician-with-no-formal training/emerging artist I didn't expect much- I've had no interest with direct contacting. However it's been an amazing learning curve (gosh, what I now know). So, my next plan is to apply for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2012.

How does a unknown composer, like myself, living in London, break into the industry? All ideas appreciated. Thank you.

Last stops for UK with my ballet. If nothing, then it's to foreign lands. Meanwhile my opera is coming along... Wish you could hear them!

So, a second helping of The Most Incredible Thing at the amazing Sadler's Wells. Tomorrow I focus some more on my second project an opera. I wonder id The Royal Opera House would like it? Then it's off to the The Print Room to give them a sample of my ballet and see if they want any work from a composer...

My ballet, Prevail, is now in the hands of the Programming Team at the ROH2. Fingers x

A good village battle's to overcome its very existence when a very irresistible character, whom the villagers are transfixed by, shows them an alternative way of living.... but what are the consequences of their decisions......? 
 My ballet (working title: Prevail):
A battle two must face in overcoming Heaven and Earth for their right to be together. But what do the two represent and why should particular forces want to keep them separate....?

Incase anyone's confused. In 2009 I began writing a ballet. I finished it in 2010 and through Jan/Feb 2011 I have been searching for a dance company/choreographer to commission it/produce it. There has been some interest with a certain well known opera house (but I can't tempt fate just yet) but it sounds promising. There's other avenues to pursue, should this first line of enquiry fail (dance academies and the press). In addition, I have begun writing an opera...
