    Unfortunately my own memories of TWA aren't so fond. I flew them near their end in 1996. The fact that flight 800 had gone down one month earlier also meant they were short a 747. Ours went tech on the ramp and threw all of the intl' departures off schedule.

    So far as I know the first true wide body twin was the A-300, and that didn't fly for another decade after TriStar.

    The DC-10 is a fuel hog compared to newer designs. Cargo operators don't mind much because 40 year old planes can be bought dirt cheap. The added fuel cost is a still cheaper than buying/leasing a newer, more fuel efficient plane.

    Closer to 30 years old, actually. I flew TWA in August of 1996. My flight from Austin to St. Luis was on a DC-9-15 from 1968, and the St. Luis - London flight was a 747-100 built in 1972.

    To each their own I suppose. Personally I don't understand the appeal of most Mexican beers. From what I have tried they tasted like carbonated nothing or were just flat out nasty.

    I have yet to try any true German beers, so who knows. My tastes may just change.
