@ubersedanshaggy kung fu is one of the worst martial arts for YOU, maybe not everybody else.... i have tried TKD (a sport), then went to kung fu. i personally find kung fu much better.

i was 2lb and 12 ounces :) my whole hand could fit on my dads thumb nail and i was teh size of a bag of sugar =) now im 5' 6" so not done toooo bad :p

Punches are very effective and safe if done properly. damage caused way exceeds damage taken. Punches put more power into a smaller area. Plus punches are faster as you are not flexing your forearm musles as you do in a plam. Also, I was watching a sparring match once, somebody did a plam and end...
