The lyrics of this song is collected from Venjoki, an area around Tsarskoje Selo, Ingria year 1847 by Taneli (David Emmanuel David) Europaeus. The population in Venjoki was of Finnish origin at that time. The ethnical cleansing happened after the WW2.

@HenryBrosowski The lyrics are in Karelian dialect, spoken in the Finnish side of South Karelia. Today, you can't find songs in Karelian from the eastern side of the border without a very strong Russian accent. The genuine Karelian accent has unfortunately almost vanished, also in Finland.

It is "Metsäkukkia", recorded in 1937.

The history of this march is well known. The original composition was quite short; like the marches were at that time. So it was lengthened in 19th century by a finnish composer and military conductor Lauri Hämäläinen.

@MrMagnusFogg You are right. It is older than that. Actually the first version of this song is transcribed by Elias Lönnrot as late as 1836. And Kanteletar, where this lyrics is picked, was published 1840, not 1802.

@Tretuville There are several Karelian dialects but no standard Karelian language. There have been some efforts to create one but the problem is that the dialects are too far apart for a single standard language.

Yong generation do not speak any Karelian in Karelian republic and there are only 20...

@Mandrin178 The word behind "muruseni" is actually "murunen", not "muru". It is a diminutive form of the word "muru". Otherwise the title would be "Missä muruni on".

@Maryxsn Eppu Normaali is a fictional name of a person (male). In english it could be e.g. Eddie Normal (or Eddie the Normal).
