Michael Hurley is a pianist, percussionist, conductor and composer of distinction and alacrity. His recent projects have included work with The Birmingham Improvisers Orchestra, composition for stage, television and mapping out the exact dimensions of Hell by filling it with liquid plastic. As well as BIO (see bio myspace page) he coordinates FiZZLE, a free improvisation night based in Birmingham UK (www.fizzle.info). He also plays in free improvisation outfits, folk groups, psychedelic folk punk band Mama Matrix (www.mamamatrix.co.uk) and other ensembles too numerous to mention in a single paragraph. His work has appeared on television, stage and ice cream cartons and has been overheard by birds of prey as well as other less aggressive animals. He lives and works in Birmingham and his favourite Law of Thermodynamics is the first. (Biog by Luke Kennard)
