"If something goes wrong when training your dog, don't blame the dog. Dogs, unlike people, come without mistakes. Always remember, the blame lies with the owner as a result of their training or handling."
"Training is something you do with your dog, not to your dog."

About Me:
I have been training Kaine on my own since we started our lives together in 2006. Our training is based on trust and the science of how dogs learn. We use positive reinforcement (a reward is added to increase the likelihood that the behavior will be repeated) and clicker training (a hands off, non coercive method of training) combined with negative punishment (a potential reward is removed to decrease the likelihood that the behavior will occur again) and management.
As a result of our positive training, Kaine received his AKC Canine Good Citizen Award on October 27, 2007. On October 5, 2008 Kaine was the finalist for "Owner Look Alike" in the 1st Annual World Wide Fido Awards 2008 for Nick At Nite. Kaine just recently recieved his Novice Trick Dog Title (NTD) from the Trick Dog Trainer's Association on June 6, 2009.
Kaine is such an intelligent dog and he loves to learn. One of our favorite ways to spend time together is to learn a new trick. Trick training improves the dogs confidence and is mentally stimulating. Tricks are a great way to bond with your dog and they improve overall body awareness. Learning tricks also keeps the dogs body agile and greatly helps with agility.
Kaine teaches me something new everyday. He is the one who inspired me to become a dog trainer.
Having a German Shepherd is the BEST. They are loyal, intelligent and sensitive to your feelings. If you have been inspired to get a German Shepherd after watching our videos, be aware of the responsibility you will be taking on. German Shepherds are working dogs. They are extremely active dogs that need lots of attention. They tend to bond to only one person (making it harder for them when you leave them alone), they are NOT outside dogs, they require extensive socialization (100+ positive experiences a day for a puppy), and they need a minimum of 2 hours of physical stimulation combined with mental stimulation, every single day, for the rest of their lives.
On that last note, we wish you the best of luck in your training.
Happy Clicking!
