A Tale of Two Tea Parties
What makes the Humboldt Tea Party patriots tick, and how is the local community receiving their message? This question is explored through coverage of a pair of Tea Parties.
In 2009, anti-tax protesters confront Congressman Mike Thompson as well as counter-demonstrators in a march on Thompson's office to object to government-mandated health insurance. On Tax Day (April 15) of 2010, Tea Partiers gather once more at the courthouse to rail against too much taxation and wasteful spending.
Filmed at the Humboldt County Courthouse in August 2009 and April 2010, and at Congressman Thompson's Eureka field office in August 2009.

Eureka Peace March 2010
Local anti-war activists rally at the Humboldt County Courthouse and march through downtown and Old Town Eureka to protest the U.S. invasion and continuing occupation of Iraq, as well as to bring attention to the social and environmental needs going unmet due to the bloated Pentagon budget.
The event was sponsored by Communities for Peace and Justice, with host Jack Nounnan introducing the speakers and musicians. This news documentary was filmed in Eureka, CA on March 20, 2010.

Sentinel Reports: Disability Action Day
Persons living with disabilities and their advocates rally at the Humboldt County Courthouse to object to the massive budget cuts proposed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger which would decimate In Home Support Services, CalWorks and other services for seniors, the disabled and people suffering from poverty and unemployment.
This event was sponsored by Tri-County Independent Living, and hosted by Tri-County's Cindy Calderon and Glenn Reed. Featured speakers included Assemblyman Wes Chesbro's field representative John Woolley, State Senator Pat Wiggins' field representative Zuretti Goosby, FreedomsHumboldt co-founder Nicholas Bravo, disabled activist John Anderson and more.
