Magic - SOM Sealed Tournament
Max plays a 123-person Scars of Mirrodin release sealed event seeking an invite to the Scars release event championship (awarded to the Top 8). Disclaimer: This is 7 epic rounds of Scars of mirrodin action! He does the best he can with his pool, and ends up in a 3-color W/R/B deck. Despite the questionable nature of his deck, the whole proves to be greater than the sum of its parts when he tees off on some ridiculously good decks and is (mostly) triumphant.

In this 64-person Scars of Mirrodin draft tournament, Max goes for naya metalcraft. His plan is to be aggressive with multiple Auriok Sunchasers, Carapace Forgers, and a slew of artifact creatures and equipment. Liquimetal Coating shines, and a series of close games leads into an unfortunate run-in with land flood on the cusp of the Top 8. Max vows to return and avenge!

In this draft, Max carves a space out for himself in U/W levelers/auras. His deck is very consistent with lots of multiples, plenty of removal in the form of 5 total Narcolepsy/Guard Duty, and a couple great finishers in the form of Deathless Angel and Drake Umbra.

Magic - M11 Draft 2
In this draft, Max finds that red, despite being the weakest color in M11, can be a powerful strategy in the format. Much like white in ROE, red can be ridiculous if you are the only drafter at the table who is playing the color. Of course, he is helped along by Inferno Titan and our dear friend Chandra Nalaar.
