About Me:

For 46 years, the talents of the people of Burma have been suppressed by the regime which allow no freedom of any kind.

Most of the people in Burma are living on less than a dollar a day. The country is deeply isolated and county men are in starvation. Anyone who dare to speak out against the current military junta are killed or imprisoned. The lawless action taken by the authorities on the peaceful and unarmed democracy activists is increasing. People are taken to prison at night without the fair trail and sentenced to lengthy jail time which ranges from 10 to 60 years.

Burma in fact is an exotic Buddhist land which is rich in natural resources. This is the country with full of potential. Right now, the country's rich natural resources are sold to neighboring countries like China, ASEAN, India and some western countries to strengthen the brutal regime.

Most of the revenue are spent on the weapons to oppress its own people and build a new capital for the top ruling generals. For most of the people of Burma, they have to struggle to earn money to buy food. Health care and education become luxury. Many young and desperate women have no choice but to work in prostitution and child labor is rampant. Child soldiers are recruited by force. The humanitarian crisis is looming.

The 2007 September saffron revolution lead by monks to defy the military rule was the largest in two decades. Today, there are over 2,000 political prisoners in Burma.

Please support the Burmese struggle for democracy by urging the government of China, India, Russia and ASEAN to use the economic and political leverage and cease the supply of weapons and other strategic resources.

yesterday i went to the 22nd commemoration of 8888 held by the ASSOCIATION OF BURMESE STUDENTS SAN FRANCISCO... some of the leaders were there... we had a dharma talk, delicious food and a symbolic burning of the 2008 sham constitution... i got to play with the wonderful Karen refugee children... so polite...such beautiful smiles... some are new arrivals... my dream is for them to one day go home to the KAREN STATE and invite me over to play on bamboo playground equipment... keep up the good work...thank you so much

I agree with cord968. Brake my heart everytime I think of what is happening to Tibet. I'm afraid that is Chinese goverment has in plan for Burma. We just can't stand by and watch. We united and work together. Take care.

we don't forget the monks slaughtered in Burma,
we want that all the free men in the world be aware of their sacrifice,
but I also want that they have not fight alone. we can help burman people, we can avoid a new Tibet...
