For the Special Edition, someone decided to monkey with sound levels, so we're distracted from the real focus of our ears by a louder BOOP...

@SynesterSeX Agreed. Even Ben Burtt's layered blaster shots — from the towers, dishes, the speeders, and the AT-AT's horns and tusks — sound like a symphony.

When I clicked on this video I jokingly went "chunn-chunn-chunn" to myself, fully expecting some crappy nu metal accompaniment.

Every time I watch this segment, I can't get over how a) stilted and amateurish the 0:31-0:35 "draw" sequence is, and b) grateful I am to have never seen Episodes 2 or 3. So bad. SO BAD.

There's an old-school grit to these movies, even through Jedi — not only does Leia garrote Jabba, but Luke destroys the barge and anyone left in the Hutt's court. It's just enough to convince the audience that these are serious heroes.

First, I thought back to watching this in the theater 14 years ago and, assuming I'd overlooked the Special Edition changes in the heat of the moment or had since forgotten them, figured Lucas deserved some credit. Then I read the comments. Nice work.

@MichaelJacksonsLove2 People do make music like this — you just need to look beyond Top 40 radio. You'd be surprised who you'll find playing in a bar just like the one Billy Joel describes.

That pregnant pause between phrases is priceless.
