On September 17, 2010, Egypt and I entered in what would be our final competition together. I said to him that morning, "This is going to be our final run together, isn't it?" and he actually nickered in response. He did his best for me that night at the championship Gymkhana and though we didn't win, I felt it was a good farewell run for him. As we drove away from the arena, I couldn't help but suddenly feel sick with sadness. I watched the arena pass by and thought of the horse in the trailer that has been my speed for 2 years and knowing I won't return on him made me feel sad. He is now retired to trail and some eventing at the house, but no more Gymkhana. Might train him in Endurance though....He could be good at that! Haha.
