About Austin Larson
An increasingly recognized soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player, Austin Larson has received top honors in many major competitions, most notably First Place in both the International Horn Society Premier Soloist Competition and the International Horn Competition of America in addition to his selection as a winner in the Yamaha Young Performing Artists Competition in 2011. Austin is currently a third year undergraduate horn performance student at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM), studying with Randy Gardner and Duane Dugger. Originally from Neenah, WI, Austin studied with Donald Krause and Dr. Bruce Atwell and graduated from Neenah High School in 2009. Austin has performed with the Fox Valley, Green Bay, and Oshkosh Symphonies and is also an alumnus of the CCM Spoleto Festival and Lutheran Summer Music Academy and Festival, where he was selected as the Concerto Competition Winner in 2008.
