@bh5496 Obviously not your bud. I study. I don't waste my time and others making useless remarks like you. If you have something to contribute to the discussion, contribute, you don't have to agree, but try to put some effort in it. By the way, the F2A3's gross weight was significantly greater...

    hoodoo2001 hoodoo2001 commented:

Nothing like the Avenger GB flew. The shown plane has an Atlantic A/S color scheme. I am sick of every TBF article swooning over the fact that GB flew an Avenger in WWII. He lost his crew for cripes sake. May not have been his fault, we have only his word, but if I were him I would never want it...

World's Deadliest Aircraft - TBF Avenger

The TBF Avenger, a carrier-based torpedo bomber, was built to avenge the devastated American fleet at Pearl Harbor.

    hoodoo2001 hoodoo2001 commented:

Poor historical narrative. Whoever wrote this wasn't close to being a WWII aviation historian.

    Probably still in High School.

    Bf109E3 atack tanker ship

    hoodoo2001 hoodoo2001 commented:

Just from the stand point of realism, the tactics used would not work would they? With out a cradle it appears that the bomb would go through the prop. Additionally that wing over with a bomb on your belly doesn't look too realistic, would the 109 really roll over and dive like that with the ...

    Four Years of Thunder

    hoodoo2001 hoodoo2001 commented:

Wish for the modern shots they had used a modern replica with a rotary engine instead of replicas with radial engines. In the picture of Fokker and Richthofen examining the PUP you can

see the move the propeller and the engine follow the propeller which is a proper rotary.

This is not an F2A-2 replica. It is an early F2A-3 wooden model depicting one of the F2A-3''s assigned to the USS Long Island. Wonderful full scale model. They have also built a B-339D model for the Netherlands that is now on display.

    hoodoo2001 hoodoo2001 commented:

@Itsmeagain9145 Actually the Stug III in it's anti-tank was used as tanks in the Panzer Division order of battle because of the German's shortage of tanks (one of the drawbacks of Panthers and Tigers were they were expensive tanks and slow to build). Gunner's Firearms: Firing the British PIAT!

Here's Brian dry firing the British Piat.

    hoodoo2001 hoodoo2001 commented:

Once again, the end game incorrect although this does show the recommended method of cocking and how the buttplate is properly positioned once the firing pin is cocked. The buttplate is supposed to be used against the shoulder. And the propellant going off kicked like the dickens.

PIAT british antitank weapon in WW2

the very dificult process of load a proyectile in this british WW2 "bazooka"

    hoodoo2001 hoodoo2001 commented:

This clears up how the firing pin is cocked, but nothing else. The butt is I think supposed to be turned and "telescoped" forward allowing it to be placed on the shoulder. The firing pin remains cocked.
