Hello, sis and thanks for writing. Finding a church isn't easy in college towns (depending on where you attend school) because so many of the churches cater to the lukewarmness of the young and the restless (college students). Many pastors are afraid to preach the truth to the college folk because they don't want to offend them and lose access to their student loans... Sad, but true in many cases.
So, keep praying and asking God to connect you to a fellowship, large or small, that demonstrates their love and submission to Jesus Christ.
Any church that honors a secret society is open to the spirit of that society. So, if you continue to attend a church like that (without God's expressed consent) then you will be subject to whatever spirit the leadership entertains. That's why Jesus warns us to judge Christian leadership by its fruit. If there was no threat to your spiritual life, then Christ wouldn't have warned us of this.
